Frostrail Resources: Scavenging & Crafting Uses

Frostrail links scavenging in settlements, wreckage and dangerous interiors with equipment and train expansion. This overview separates where supplies are sought, what they support and why they return aboard.

Based on official pre-release information. Development updates are dated in the relevant sections; this is not a hands-on walkthrough.

Find supplies

The official description names several settings for scavenging rather than a list of materials or guaranteed drops. Settlements are remnants to search, frozen wreckage offers another place to break into, and bunkers and strongholds combine salvage with danger. Underground exploration is described as offering greater rewards at greater risk. These distinctions help explain the kinds of expeditions the game presents; they do not establish that a particular item always appears in a given building.

Identify the purpose

The store connects scavenging, hunting and crafting with weapons and equipment, while the train description adds reinforced walls, weapon stations, crafting facilities and storage. Those are different destinations for supplies: equipping the traveler, protecting the base and expanding its facilities. Fuel is an operating requirement of the Eden Engine, but the source does not connect it to a named material or recipe. Use crafting roles to separate these needs instead of assuming every collected object serves the same purpose.

  • Personal equipment: the weapons and gear used outside the train.
  • Train construction: the protective and production facilities described in the store overview.
  • Operating needs: fuel and power management are named, but their resource details remain unspecified.

Return to storage

Returning aboard connects a scavenging trip with the facilities that can make use of its results. The train carries storage and can expand, while workshops support production. Finding supplies is consequently only one part of the larger loop; deciding their purpose and bringing them back belong to the same journey. Storage capacities, transfer rules and loss-on-death behavior are not documented in the reviewed sources. Read returning from an expedition for that journey, and train storage for the base itself.
