Frostrail Map & Locations: What Is Confirmed

A complete Frostrail world map or verified set of coordinates is not available in the sources reviewed here. The official material does describe settlements, wreckage, bunkers, strongholds, dungeons and tundra environments.

Based on official pre-release information. Development updates are dated in the relevant sections; this is not a hands-on walkthrough.

Abandoned settlements

Steam describes searching the remnants of abandoned settlements for vital supplies. This makes settlements part of the scavenging landscape rather than a confirmed directory of named towns. The resources table compares their stated role with wreckage and dangerous interiors.

Wreckage lost to the frost

Frozen wreckage is another environment players can break into during exploration. Its role is distinct from settlements in the store’s description, but no specific wreck names, access routes or contents are given. Follow expedition stages to connect a search site with the outward and return journey.

Bunkers, strongholds and the depths

Derelict bunkers and ruined strongholds contain salvage and danger in the official description. Descending farther is framed as a greater-reward, greater-risk decision. The May update adds a specific discovery to that setting: Relics found in dungeons can be activated aboard the train. That connection gives underground exploration a role beyond ordinary supplies while leaving individual layouts and relic locations unspecified.

Distance from the moving base

The train moves the base through the world, while supplies and discoveries draw players away from it. Cold and blizzards affect that movement outside the refuge, so reaching a location is only part of the journey. Survival conditions and the return stage provide context without inventing travel times or stopping points.

Is there a complete Frostrail map?

No complete world map, verified rail network or coordinate dataset is established by the sources used for this guide. Environment categories therefore remain categories, not map markers. The May development report mentions levels with multiple exits, but does not define how every exit connects to the wider world. Read progression for the dated level information.

Dungeons and tundra: the May development update

The May 13, 2026 update described modular dungeon assets, improved underground lighting and new landscapes and nature assets for the tundra biome. It also mentioned new levels with multiple exits. These are development observations supplied by the team, not a complete launch map. Relics connect the underground spaces to the train, while progression explains the level-related announcements.
